About the event

The event also offers an opportunity for learning and discussing about the Russian tests, the impact on the environment, the lasting legacy and how that is very much a women’s issue. Aigirem Seitenova is visiting Scotland to share her short film, "JARA – Radioactive Patriarchy: Women of Qazaqstan" , accompanied by Indira Weaver, an ethnic Qazaq mum living in Maidenhead who has climbed several significant peaks as part of her collaboration  with Karipbek_Kuyukov the award-winning Quazaq mouth painter and nuclear test survivor. They aim to meet Scottish supporters of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, and to tell their story, especially to the younger generation of Scots.

There is no charge for this event but a collection will be taken to support Secure Scotland's international collaborations.
