Secure Scotland Privacy Policy
Secure Scotland takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This Privacy Notice explains how we use any personal information that you supply to us, or that might be collected from a third party, and sets out your rights in respect of our processing of your personal information.
‘Secure Scotland’ is a network of people and organisations that is challenging prevailing ideas of security. In place of practices that increase inequality and make us less safe, we identify actions and people that benefit Scotland’s citizens and their environment by responding to basic needs and real threats, and recognise how Scotland can contribute peace and security to the global community.
Words like security and defence have come to be used to describe action that uses up resources we need and puts us all in danger. Coronavirus showed that we are not protected, yet, at the same time, we saw how people can change their behaviours very quickly when that is required for the common good.
We may collect your personal data in your capacity as: a member of one of our networks (including, but not limited to, several Scottish Parliament Cross Party Groups, Partner Organisations in the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, partner organisations in one of our own projects, a donor or participant in our meetings, subscriber to our mailing lists.
You provide your personal data to us on a voluntary basis.
Without providing us with your personal data, you will be unable to (as appropriate) receive all of our alert and news emails, partner with us in projects , access our trainings and events, make a donation or apply to volunteer or work with us.
This Privacy Notice is intended to assist you in making informed decisions about your personal data. We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time without notice to you, so please check it regularly.
