‘Secure Scotland’ is a network of people and organisations that is challenging prevailing ideas of security. In place of practices that increase inequality and make us less safe, we want to link up those who think Scotland could look after all its citizens and their environment by responding to basic needs and real threats, and make useful contributions to peace and security in the global community.

Our key areas of concern are:

  • food security

  • wellbeing economy

  • peace and disarmament

  • violence reduction

  • land reform

By making a donation you can help support our work in these areas, including network building, publications, messaging and lobbying in parliament. We have a premises at Ratcliffe Terrace that function as a base of operations for Secure Scotland's activities, a drop-in centre with an open door policy and a safe space for various groups in our network to organise. The rent for the premises is kindly funded by the Joseph Rowntree Trust but we rely on donations to cover staff and running costs and to fund project activities. (See our Projects page for more information about our ongoing projects).

You can help by making a donation. This could be a one-off amount or a recurring monthly subscription. Even £5 per month will make a big difference to our ability to continue the work we do. We send out regular email updates on activities, events and writing or publications. By making a donation using the form on this page, you will also be subscribed to our "alerts" e-mailing list (you will receive an opt-in email to allow you to confirm your addition to the list).
