About the event
Our exhibition ‘Oor Beasties’ draws inspiration from this years theme of The Scottish International Storytelling Festival: Bird and Beast, presented by The Scottish Storytelling Centre. The festival returns this year from 21–31 Oct with 10 days of myths, folklore and stories from Scotland and beyond. https://www.scottishstorytellingcentre.com/
The death of a language can happen for different reasons. Sometimes it is a malicious, targeted attack against a culture, often done as part of a racist and colonialist agenda. Other times languages disappear as a result of globalization, filtering out gradually.
This exhibition aims to keep the Scott’s language alive and bring attention to the history of Scotland!
